I think Stockton was a class player for us. The issue for some fans was that he was at 6'2" and 100 odd kilos by far our biggest forward and as such we expected him to be more physical which just isn't his game. If we were to recruit actual big physical players alongside Stockton then I'd be more than happy with his return as he is a point per game player in the EIHL.
Marquardt would be an absolutely brilliant signing and exactly what we missed last season. Big power forward and whilst Klotz was fulfilling most fighting duties for the Blaze last season, Jim Vandermeer will be able to testify that big Matt can fight as well. In short I'll be right back on board if he signs.
Big rugged stay at home d-man to follow I hope particularly if it's true that Poulin has signed given his attacking tendencies.
I don't think the under-23 rule is a bad one. You could argue that it just leaves Brits bench warming but that is all down to the coach and in any case isn't any better or worse than what some clubs are doing already.
If you want to develop youth players then this rule isn't a problem. Take Dundee who have given reasonable ice time to Moore, Grieveson, McGiffin and to a lesser extent Edmonds and Inglis all season. Then take us who had Smith sat on the bench for half a dozen games.
If the Flyers and the coach were to embrace this rule and have say Little as backup with Chad Smith, Caly Robertson, Martyn Simpson and Reece Cochrane being blooded and getting genuine ice time on the third or even a fourth line then it would be ideal. Keep Wands as a solid Brit d-man and bin the rest of last seasons Brits with the possible exception of Scoon.
