Great game last night and we were well worth the win. Yes Whistle was very poor but I'm sure Owen would be thinking he could have done better at 2 of the Giants goals. At 4 - 1 up Halas done his best to bring Giants back into the game by calling very soft penalties on us whilst missing 3 glaring penalties on them. When they scored 4 on the bounce to go 5 - 4 up I thought we were going to throw in the towel, but no, it was quite the opposite, we dug deep and scored 5 without reply. Kudos to Foxy for throwing some big hits. This was the gritty style of hockey we were promised at the start of the season, I only wish we had been served it up on a regular basis. Well done Flyers.
Owen Paquet, Moyer Dingle, Fox, Stockton, Sisca, Schaber From the other Gardiner teams, the players I would like to see in a Flyers shirt are D - Poulin ( Stars ) Erhardt, Johnson ( Storm ) F - Scarsella, Faryna ( Stars ) Vorobyev ( Caps ) Dzuirzynski Full time Brits ( aye right ! ) Paul Phillips ( Storm ) Moore ( Stars )
We never laid a glove on Devils for the first 40 mins, they bossed the corners with their physicality, they were simply too strong for us in these areas all game. The final period was much better, we were finishing our hits and we improved our puck retention. Phil Paquet fully deserved his mom award. Halas proved yet again he has no idea how to control a game, woeful. Todd really needs to get a new source for signing players, whoever described Cameron as a gritty player needs his head looked! It would be akin to describing Thinel as a speed merchant!
Sorry pal you are wrong the puck never touched Phils stick and Cartier touched it on the line, go back one page the evidence is there to be seen.
It was definitely off Paquets stick, he is outstretched and hits the puck backward in a sweeping motion. Very close as to whether Cartier touched the puck on the blue line or in the attacking zone tho. I will give you the benefit of doubt and say he touches it on the line
I think you should look at the highlights of the game, Heatley was offside on the 2nd goal.
He can't be offside if it was Paquet who knocked the puck back into his own defensive zone. I think the puck has been played back off Paquet's stick into his own defensive zone, and it's in the defensive zone before Cartier touches the puck, so it doesn't matter that Heatley was in there before the puck.
I simply cannot believe how many offsides are getting missed at EIHL level and i am not talking about mm's that 2nd goal was at least 10ft offside, this is a regular occurrence by officials we have seen for a couple of years or more not beginners. pretty poor imo.
It was Paquet who sent the puck into our defensive zone so can't be offside?
