Yep good signing, hope Schaber is the only other returnee to come now, would like to see some new signings next, and hopefully Moyer is over his injury. He's a class act on the ice, would like to see a couple big bodies in D alongside him.
I don't think he's good enough to be a top 2 centre in the league anymore, too lightweight, gets hurt too much, and as for the best 1 timer in the league I think he's scored 2 in 2 years. He can be pretty skilled as times but not enough for me. Wouldn't have been one I chased back after almost a year out.
I know social media and PR doesn't determine the outcome of the season but found myself at a loose end this morning, so had a look at our conference rivals twitter accounts.... this is a rough count for the last week
Braehead clan 90 odd tweets including player sponsorship and season ticket info, 3 signings and 5 individual interviews.
Dundee stars 40 odd tweets including season ticket info, player sponsorship, stars in the community, highlights of new signings, 2 interviews with coach and 1 with a new signing, 3 signings.
Edinburgh caps, 21 tweets , 2 interviews with the coach, 1 interview with their 1 signing.
FIFE FLYERS 5 tweets, zero info on anything other than Brooks leaving, and the second part of an interview recorded weeks ago with Todd, zero signings. And that's the Scottish clubs, the other 8 have been busy as well, fife flyers organisation is an absolute disgrace this year.
If as Todd said the market opens up just shortly then the quiet side the now is ok, but surely then things could be tied up with Brits? Get that out the way and the few (Moyer schaber fox?) that he wants from last year. I would hope with Hutchins having more input that recruiting will be better this season, and I agree what we need is a combination of all the teams we have seen so far in the flyers elite. Trying to be optimistic maybe there is a bigger plan! Maybe?
Doubt it, there's not some master plan in place at fife than none of the other 11 teams haven't came across yet
First time poster long time lurker here... This will be my second season watching the flyers after myself and my daughter decided to give it a try and ended up loving it (even though the product on the ice wasn't brilliant at times). It beggars belief the way the fans are treated in regards to information and communication, the PR/social media is also fairly poor (I honestly think I could do a better job on that front) from what I see there is a very dedicated and loyal fan base that is being abused by the owners here. With no signings announced and, from what I've heard sponsors pulling and and reinvesting elsewhere I wonder how the team will fair next season? I've ordered two season tickets for the upcoming season but perhaps I've jumped all in too quick... Sorry if I've hijacked the thread... Keep up the good work guys because as far as I can see this is the best place to come for information on the team!
Ps... any chance of forming a Facebook group version of this forum?
Most on here seem to be long term fans and some of us ex players at the rink and are sometimes called for being too negative, but to see new fans like yourself come on and see the same things straight away that we see is frightening and just shows it's spreading right across the fan base, you're spot on with what you say bud, welcome to the forum, also if you download the App called Tapatalk and search for the forum it's 100X easier to use than the desktop original version.
