I’d give marr the nod in Manchester, purely to keep Iles from playing back to back, our focus this year is now probably finally winning the conference and to do that we’ll need to win the series against Braehead so keep Iles fresh for that, and like Harlan said Home form to keep the crowds coming is crucial, for next year aswell when it comes to budgets
Flyers Twitter now asking flyers fans to take a course in Spanish run in Edinburgh by focus consulting...who pay not a penny towards the flyers, I just don't get the thinking behind this...is it a flyers account or a account run for the benefit of owner and his friends. The whole social media is just wrong.
To be brutally honest given how the Flyers have treated the british players that have been in the squad why would any of them even want to move up to the Flyers, the only ice time your gonna get will be in training and if your lucky in your first two or three years you'll amass twenty minutes game time.
Only one capable that's left is Scott Jamieson from Falcons. Does he even get to train with Flyers? Others moved to Caps in summer and probably won't be back.
And they both played SNL last night, not elite, so that shows you how elite ready they are. Honestly to listen to folk on here you would think that we have a junior system full of players ready to get drafted by the NHL. The elite league will never allow any local player who anything other than an exceptional talent to claim a regular place on the roster. I look around teams and where are all these ex Fife players that have left in their droves playing in the elite !!!!
Halas is the ref so it will be all about him and evening out penalties
Glad I'm not going now, refuse to travel to away games if he is refereeing. O grudge giving flyers money for what he makes a wasted nights entertainment so I certainly won't give money to another team for it.
I really do not understand the negativity on this page and what often seems like a knee-jerk need to slag off our players. It is short-termism and if we are struggling say a third of the way through the season then you would have a right to moan. Flyers have won 4 out of 5 competitive games at this stage. Jim Jorgensen has been an impressive EIHL attacking d-man and when he played for Clan seemed to be one of the stand-out d-men in the whole league. If his signing doesn't work out long-term he can be replaced. The often-criticised Peter LeBlanc has a great AHL pedigree and seems to have got fitter in the past few games. LeBlanc is part of a TEAM that has been successful up to now and he plays a specific unheralded role in a squad which has a mix of some very fast young skaters and some steady older heads. How many of LeBlanc's critics even realise that he is currently the highest point scorer in the whole Challenge Cup? Pete has played 4 Challenge Cup games and has scored 3 goals and 7 assists for 10 points. He also has 2 assists in our sole League game. So a tally of 12 points in 5 games avg 2.4 points a game would be 'bite-your-hand off to have' stuff for just about every team in the league.
Good balanced reply to all the negative posts..but I think a lot of points we are making is..it's not much good having a team which is moderately successful if it is playing in front of a rink which is a third full with no atmosphere which is the way that this team is heading. What we wanted was a good player but also a crowd pleaser to get another few hundred through the door and the crowd on there feet. Unfortunately Jorgensen is not that player and we have been lacking one since Nickerson and the crowds have been declining since. This team has the makings of being really good but we had an opportunity there to really get excitement...and once again we blew it.
I think a lot would be happy enough with him. Was a player most wanted back.
the happy clappers any buddy with a hockey brain knows it a toughie wee need and if a skilled player would be another like young
Wrong again...I know a lot of non happy clappers (me included) who would have been happy to have him back, decent defensively and had a bit nastiness, something we don't have at the moment. But in fairness I would rather he replaced Birzins as opposed to being our last signing.
Where does Isaacs go then...back to Centre....why are they looking for a D man if he is staying? Paquet would just confirm the JOBS FOR THE BOYS theory for me.
Isaacs only playing centre cos third line centre is injured and dutes does not want to overplay our other 2, I see his logic and actually think he is doing right thing, Wando and Tommy playing well enough that short term we can get by with Isaacs moving roll. I am actually eating humble pie and saying I quite like this team. A few little tweaks and a change or 2 and I think we could pull off a few surprises.
It was never put up plexi OR face a fine. It was a £5k fine (suspended) AND put up plexi. Plexi or not, any bother this year and the fine kicks in. Was always an ill thought out idea to enforce changes on an arena with no penalty for failing to comply.
Would still tell them to ram it...trouble was caused by visiting team.
you have to wonder if they have just said stuff it and paid the 5 grand as they don't want the plexi there
Surely not, we all know it’s all about money for Tam so can’t see it costing 5 grand to install. They’ve probably made a deal to have it next year. It’s true what they’re saying though, the league dish out that, nothing gets done and then it’s just completely ignored, makes the league look pathetic
My reasons would be..it was an incident caused by a storm player who walked away from the incident scot free, As the incident was caused by a storm player, they should be responsible for half the cost, pretty sure I would not be out of pocket because another team could not control their bench. For once I agree with Muir, I would dig my heels in about this one and give them nothing.
