Raith Rovers recently held their strip launch in the same location and it was a pretty decent success. Yes the obvious choice is to have it at the rink but that's been done for a good few years, therefore I see the change of venue as a positive and it ties in nicely with them showing away games this season too.
In regard to positive comments I'll need to look out for these!
And yes everyone is entitled to an opinion, and yes not everyone will agree with what a poster says, however some are not opinions they're just divisive comments that do nothing more than bring down.
I hadn't picked up in the bit about showing away games. They do know that teams that do a webcast are a wee bit touchy about public viewings or has that issued been resolved ?
They did it last year without permission..looks like they will do it again but this time with flyers blessing. How would Fife like it if they lost money by other teams showing their webcast to home fans.
Is it possible that there can be one thread where is doesn't descend into a negative comment knocking the Flyers???? I'm no happy clapper by any means but this constant slating of the coaches/team/owners is getting so tiring.
I would actually question why the interest in the Flyers by a few on this forum when this is all they do. What good does it actually do? I mean after 6 years of being in the elite league very few of the wishes of this forum have been addressed so why keep banging the same drum?
For me Im not being negative but on this particular subject holding a shirt launch in a nightclub doesn't seem like the best option. Its called an opinion you dont have to like it.
I would say there are better options to launch the strip, despite the issues they have faced holding it at the rink its a chance to see the guys on the ice and meet then afterwards (and see the strips) If that doesnt work for folk use the Bay hotel (also a sponsor) failing that there are loads off conference suites that could be used to host a decent PR event with sponsors fans and the players meeting up.
As I said its not about turning everything into a negative or moaning for the sake of it. Its looking at this one thing in isolation and giving an opinion.
Funny how when posters talk about the negative moaners they always ignore anything positive these folk talk about eh.
The reason it's at Society is that a lot of the people involved in the club only do things that will benefit them personally in some way, When you think about it logically the venue is terrible for a shirt launch, so why would the persons who arranged this be doing it if it wasn't a case of you scratch my back, I will scratch yours, this event is not for the fans or even the club, it's for a select few and there self interest. Fife Flyers play at Kirkcaldy Ice Rink, it's the home it's where the fans should be meeting the players.
Tom Muir will be loving that Italian passport though! Cheap and the happy clappers love him. Tom Muir and co are the real problems with this club, stuck in the 80's.
Italian passport ???, What is the relevance ....last interview "we have one possible 2 to return from last year" since then..Isaacs, Schaber and Funnucci, just shoes we are now scrambling around for anyone
Would rather have a young guy willing to graft and put in the hard work than a tourist on his way out Worrying more about Golf Courses than the team. This kid will give his all give the guy a chance
Well I really hope he hasn't been giving his all on his career to date then, because it's not been that impressive, not a point scorer or a physical player, hard to see the thinking in a team so heavily reliant on imports
Says new team member...may not be a player, could maybe be off ice
First game 13 days away 6 imports to sign. Players expected to be here week leading upto the first game, which means to be in the country in 7 days.
Surely they wouldn't troll the fans by doing the same announcing style on social media for a backroom staff position. Would they?
They do have a new equipment guy in this season. They do not need to do any build up for these positions just confirm the changes in a PR release. Mind you they don't exactly have a great track record in doing these things the right way.
Just a strange choice of words, and all the talk of off ice improvements, ...after the enforcer emoji for isaacs, nothing should be ruled out with flyers media
Same here, I'm really looking forward to the new season but at the same time filled with dread over what it will hold for us.
12 teams now where are we going to end up ? top half or bottom half ? in the play offs or out of them ? surely not last ? Will be better placed to answer these questions once we've got a full compliment of players so maybe November time then.
Weakest looking teams at moment are Fife, Guildford and Dundee. Unless our last signings are good I'm thinking 9th at best.
No 6 showing us what we can expect this coming season in his natural position. Love the way he protects Shane Owen at the 6.45 mark.
Jeez, give it a rest.
It's all about budget this year dirko, what they save on Issac's gives you a bit more of a carrot to dangle on others, there's still a few teams trying to fill spots and we are in competition with them for the players that are willing to come to the league which there isn't that many. That bit extra we can now offer might swing it.
Well i hope he comes in better shape than he did last year.
Did you manage to catch a glimpse in the shower to confirm that?
As has been said before he came in at the start of the season to get fit for his tryout, and to provide cover for flyers for Paquet....it was a win situation for both, I'm sure now he knows when season starts he will be prepared.
I am happy with Isaacs in a team were we had players taking nights off when they felt like it, he never failed to give anything than 100%,..put in plenty of hits, probably most in team and a few of them borderline which is always needed in a d man. Is he the classiest player.no, is he a big body who could do basics like block and clear crease, I'm thinking yes. Not a fighter but I'm willing to bet he will at least have a go at all the netminder bumpers that all our regular d men turned away from last year.
The happy clappers that know nothing about hockey will be there
That's unfair on them, they love their hockey and it's their choice, I choose not to follow blindly but would never criticise someone who does, a lot of them have been going as long as me and know their hockey. More than a lot of people on here who like to criticize for the sake of it at times.
