The start of the game last night looked like two burnt out teams down on their luck and looking for the end of the season so they can put it behind them. How we ended the first period with only one goal was down to shear bad luck and a Clan goalie that grew in stature as the game progressed. 2nd period was dominated by Flyers 19 shots to 9 the turning point was the 5 on 3 where we got he haw, thats when the heads started to go down and Clan got their 2nd goal made things bad to worse. The 3rd period is probably the worst i have seen this season and was very very painful to watch. From what i have heard morale is not well at present among some of the players with rumours of some of the players fighting during training the other night. I can see us winning both our home games and if we get a bit of luck with the correct tactics we could beat Edinburgh we have done it before. No matter what the outcome of this season it is a vast imrovment on last and will probably be remembered as the season if only we had done X,Y & Z and avoided some of the injuries to key players. If lessons are learned and we are to make further progress then starting with a full deck with a combination of skill, speed and toughness is a must have.
Will wait a week or two before saying who I would have back......it will be a short list. Gravely disappointed with effort recently with a play off spot looming to many names posted missing.Coaches cant take the rap all the time , like football managers sometimes players have other agendas and wont/dont turn up match days...there are plenty of candidates for Gas.
