Great road win. Only time Storm looked like the better team was the start of the first period as we skated off our bus legs and got used to the smaller ice pad. After that we looked the likely winners with good energy and forechecking.
I thought the webcast was good, commentators got a load of names wrong but were listenable, wish our webcast had replays.
That small ice pad causes us problems Flyers Fans in full song encouraging the team The bus trip home will be a good one New Boy Cameron good first game playing Centre won a few face offs game winning goal and assist Once again Captain Dingle worked his ----- off 2 points in League and Conference tails will be up tomorrow night
Thinel with 1+1 also tonight good to see him back If we can just get Schaber back now the 3rd line would look a lot stronger Owen continues to see a lot of rubber out shot nearly 2 to 1 tonight again Good road win
Excellent game at the Storm shelter last night with a very solid away team performance. The home sides first goal was a re-direct in front of net through the 5 hole which gave Owen little chance and the second was a shot into a half empty net due to a few players screening the Flyers goalie. No weaknesses in the team other than No15 who really is out of his depth at EIHL level but Todd loves him, he is a trier but that's it i'm afraid......pity Dolan isn't on a line with 2 imports. No Jackman (never saw him in the building)and not so much as a rumour as to why or Schaber, Cameron had a decent debut playing with an un-named No18 shirt scoring the last goal, he looks pretty good at face-offs winning all but one he took. MOM was Captain Dingle with Owen his usual self, i thought Thinel had a great game as well but as i said a very solid performance from The Flyers in front of around 40 loud travelling supporters.
Just to echo everyone above seeing as I seem to be a negative nelly all the time. I thought we came out slow but grew into the game and we kicked on after scoring our first goal. My one gripe is when we score, we seem to let other teams back into the game too soon afterwards. How many times have we scored and then the other team have scored within a few minutes?. Regardless, good result in a tough building to play in. As ronniemac said, I thought Thinel had a decent first game back all things considered. Hopefully now we're getting guys back from injury, we can start being a bit more consistent. Our record against the other conference is decent, it's against our own conference we've let ourselves down.
Just need to build on last nights result and get the win at home tonight.
